This year’s Cromwell Fireworks and Street Party is planned for the Cromwell Heritage Precinct on Sunday, October 23.

‘‘We are so pleased that we can bring this lovely family event back to our community this year, especially after having to cancel last year’s due to Covid›19 restrictions, Cromwell and Districts Promotion Group chairwoman Carolyn Murray said.

‘‘We have partnered with Creative Workshops NZ to run art workshops from 3pm›6pm on the day. These workshops are completely free to attend and will cover painting, drawing, and photography.’’

The event starts at 5pm with a disco, magic show and face art . Children can also play on a bouncy castle or, for the more adventurous, try their skills on aerial silks.

Melmore Tce will be transformed into a foodie’s dream with street food options from food trucks and fundraisers.

The event’s highlight — the fireworks display over the Kawarau River — will start at about 8.45pm, or as soon as it was dark enough. More information is available at cromwell.org.nz
