Laura Shepard and Graeme Quay, of Dunedin, view Matariki photographs on display at the Maniototo Early Settlers’ Museum, in Naseby on the second official Matariki holiday last week. The couple were staying in the town for the weekend, enjoying cycling and their first game of curling at the town’s indoor rink. Naseby was buzzing with holidaymakers enjoying fine days and good ice, both indoors and out. The Erewhon Cup ice hockey competition, which could only be played on outdoor ice, was contested during the weekend. The ice festival continued at Maniototo Adventure Park, at Naseby, with curling, luge and ice skating all on offer.
