Alexandra petanque players are encouraging people to join them on the piste.

The Alexandra Petanque Club are introducing twilight petanque in an effort to make the game more accessible to those unable to play during the day,

Club captain Liz Baxter said the club’s new 12-piste compound allowed for more players to be involved in games, and for members to invite new players along.

Petanque was a sport for “all ages and stages” of life, Mrs Baxter said

“We just want people to come along and give it a go.”

Assistant club captain Bernice Hamilton said boules would be provided and club members were keen to teach new players the game.

“It’s an easy game to play, but a long time to master,” she said.

Twilight petanque will be held on Mondays between 5.30pm and 8pm at the Alexandra Petanque Club, next to the Alexandra Bowls Club, until December 6.

It is free to attend and players can attend anytime.
