The Central Otago District Council has reached a pivotal step in the Clyde Wastewater Project with the awarding of the main pump station tender to HEB Construction.

At a cost of about $3.4million, the pump station will take wastewater through the 10.5km pipeline to Alexandra for treatment, providing the Clyde community with environmental and health benefits.

The pump station and associated emergency storage tanks will be sited on reserve land adjacent to Dunstan Hospital.

Site establishment is scheduled to start in early December, with work to be completed by mid-2022.
