Eight Upper Clutha roading projects, including Wanaka’s Schools to Pool project, are being put out to tender soon by the Queenstown Lakes District Council.
Contractors are being sought for a three-year minor works roading upgrades programme totalling about $15 million across 15 projects in Queenstown Lakes district.
Half the funding for all projects will come coming from Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, via its Low Cost, Low Risk (LCLR) initiative.
QLDC general manager property and infrastructure Pete Hansby said the work will improve traffic flow, public safety and the quality of roads.
Wanaka’s Schools to Pool cycle and pedestrian route will link three primary schools and Mount Aspiring College and is a milestone project, Mr Hansby said.
Notices of the upcoming tender processes are on the New Zealand Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) website.
