Waste Free Wanda keeping kids entertained from home

Waste Free Wanda, Anna van Riel’s environmentally friendly alter ego, is keeping children entertained from home during the Covid-19 lockdown. At 10am on Fridays the songwriter and performer is livestreaming on Facebook from her home in Hawea, and at 4pm on

Saturdays Waste Free Wanda sings simple songs and shows tips on how to reduce waste while staying safe in your bubble.

Van Riel is part of Kiwi Kids Music, a national association of songwriters, creators and performers, which is publishing a weekly music schedule so children can join in the livestreams across the country.

As well as providing entertainment for children, van Riel is doing livestreams from her Nook Dreaming Facebook page giving advice to parents and others on how to make items at home, including bread-making, planting, creating your own face cream and tinctures and other useful tips for people at home.
