Book lovers get ready, the doors to the Rotary Club of Alexandra’s annual book sale are about to open.
The event, which is into its 32nd year, will return to the Alexandra Community Centre for four days from January 1.
It will feature a range of titles across a large selection of categories, from novels to cookbooks, history to travel and everything in-between.
Co-organiser Mike Rooney said of the books donated, cook books were the most common, so if Alison Holst or Annabel Langbein were your cup of tea, then head along – but first in, first served.
The book sale has been a popular event over the years, which has so far raised $500,000 for local and international projects.
While those proceeds come mainly from a large range of books, both children and adult’s titles were also popular.
This year there were already 80 large wooden boxes full of items for the sale, which would provide plenty of reading material for the summer holidays, Mr Rooney said.
The sale will start on January 1 and finish on January 4 and doors will be open from 9am-5pm.
