‘Special’ aspect to receiving honour

Receiving a life membership to the Central Otago Softball Association was special for a variety of reasons, Alexandra woman Jude Parbhu said.

As well as the honour bestowed upon her, it was “extra special” to receive the award from fellow life member Valmai Breen, Parbhu said.

“Valmai was my first softball coach when I was at a pupil at St Gerard’s School in Alexandra. That made it even more special. It was awesome.”

Breen said Parbhu had been a “valuable contributor” to softball in Central Otago and her continued support was greatly appreciated by the softball community.

Parbhu said she had been involved with Central Otago softball for 46 years.

She has been a player, coach, manager of representative teams, umpire, scorer and administrator.

She was also a committee member from 1988 to 2007, and again from 2012 to 2016.

During that time she had various roles, including social convener, publicity officer and selector.

Parbhu said she was now “taking a step back” from her softball involvement, but would always be a strong supporter and fan of the sport.

“I love it with a passion – every bit of it.”latest Running Sneakers【2021年発売予定】 サカイ × ナイキ ヴェイパー ワッフル 全4色 – スニーカーウォーズ
