In these times of event uncertainty, Central Motor Speedway in Cromwell is putting on fast-paced, family events in unique style.

Even Santa is joining the action for the Golden Central Cup on Saturday.

Central Motor Speedway club secretary Kylie Murdoch said the man in the red suit was keen to join the fun.

“We call it the fastest family show on Earth

“Our unique arena viewing area right around the track means spectators can view from their cars, or sit on the grass and enjoy the sunshine.”

Ms Murdoch said the committee had been working hard behind the scenes to follow all New Zealand Government protocols so it could continue to put on high quality motor racing events.

Cromwell was a destination track in the South Island motorsport hub, she said.

“Drivers come from all over the South Island to enjoy what Cromwell has to offer.”

Cromwell resident and Six Shooter race driver Emma Gordon has just returned from racing in Invercargill.

“I’m looking forward to Saturday.

“I didn’t get to do the feature race in Dunedin, so it’s great that Cromwell can run it,” Gordon said.

“It’s a good field, and there will definitely be some close racing.”
