Jonathan Miller loves running.
It’s the off-trail parts and Central Otago scenery he really enjoys.
He had the chance to experience that, and get a great placing, at the Mt Difficulty Ascent 25km run in Bannockburn on Saturday – he came fifth and beat most adults who raced against him.
“There was a wee bit of ice .. it was pretty cool,” Jonathan said.
Jonathan’s father Phillip also competed in the race, but said he was only with his son for 50m, then he took off.
To train, Jonathan said he ran 40-50km a week, running one and a-half hours four times a week around his home farm in Fruitlands.
He recently came second for his age group in an Australian race.
