Southern Steel netballer Jamie Hume has been named in the New Zealand under-21 squad which will form the basis of the team for the Netball World Youth Cup in Gaborone, Botswana.
The squad of 17 was announced earlier this year and Hume, of Clyde, was named in the team alongside fellow Steel players Abby Erwood and Jennifer O’Connell.
Hume has been named in the squad on the back of a successful 2016 in which she was selected in the team that competed in the under-20 transtasman tournament in Canberra in August, and was named as a triallist for the Silver Ferns earlier this year.
Hume was also a member of the New Zealand team which won the Fast5 Netball World Series title with a 25-point win over Australia.
The final New Zealand under-21 squad will be reduced to a team of 12 prior to the youth cup and will be looking to defend its 2013 world champion title.
The cup will be played in in July.
New Zealand has been drawn in pool A along with Sri Lanka, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Samoa.Running sport mediaNike Air Jordan Retro 1 Red Black White – Buy Air Jordan 1 Retro (white / black / varsity red), Price: $60.85 – Air Jordan Shoes
