Helping make the fifth annual Wanaka Trail Ride a success is volunteer marshal Jody Chisholm, of Wanaka.

Volunteering Central senior co-ordinator Gillian White said more than 100 volunteers supported a small core crew, helping over 730 riders have a safe and enjoyable trail ride on more than 100km of private farmland.

Since the trail ride began in 2015 about $100,000 had been raised for Wanaka Primary School and Montessori Children’s House Wanaka, Ms White said.

Total funds raised this year were still being calculated but money would go towards a new bus for Wanaka Primary and a bathroom at Montessori.
