The 51st Clyde to Alexandra 10km race took centre stage on Saturday.

Participants and spectators had to contend with cold and rainy conditions as the Central Otago climate turned nasty.

About 350 competitors braved the chill across the running and walking events.

Wanaka’s Janus Staufenberg powered through in a time of 29min 56sec to be crowned the overall winner in the run, with Cromwell’s Daniel Balchin just 30sec back.
