There were some big names lining up on the Clyde bowling green last week, keen to support an inaugural all-stars tournament.
The event, which was attended by current and former sports representatives, helped raise about $7000 for the Clyde Bowling Club.
Club member Ken McConnell organised the event to help raise funds to refurbish the clubhouse bar and kitchen and was pleased with the outcome.
He said the event was a “practice run”.
“Next year we’ll get more sports stars and we might have an auction with [sporting] memorabilia.”
