Alexandra Community House is mobilising for an influx of post-Covid-19 clients.

The rooms being constructed within the existing building will be used as waiting areas and temporary office space.

Manager Carole Gillions said that extra space meant people would be seen more quickly, so they could move forward without waiting too long.

‘‘We foresee that there is going to be a greater need for people to get support, to help them through the transition from their current situation to what [it might be] in three to four months,’’ Ms Gillions said.

To help with that demand there would be an increase in staff, services and types of services offered at community house, to benefit areas such as education, career planning and financial health checks, she said.

‘‘People who are out there wanting a bit of advice moving forward, please come in and keep an eye out for information as it’s provided, for upcoming initiatives.’’

Ms Gillions said community house would continue to function as it always has and facilities such as meeting rooms were now available for people to book.
