Community feedback on a concept for stage five of the Wanaka Lakefront Development Plan (WLDP) is being sought.

The long-term, $13million project now moves to the area of lakefront next to the marina and Wanaka Yacht Club.

It will continue the recently opened shared pathway from Wanaka Dinosaur Park to the yacht club.

The works programme extends beyond the club building to the start of the Eely Point track and includes native tree planting along the bank next to Lakeside Rd.

Queenstown Lakes District Council community services general manager Dr Thunes Cloete said he was thrilled to begin engagement on stage five.

safer environment for pedestrians and cyclists to make their way past Wanaka Marina and the yacht club, while also enhancing the journey for people heading between Beacon Point Rd and Wanaka town centre via Eely Point, said.

The concept plan is on the council’s Let’s Talk website.

Forms are at Wanaka Library and the council offices at 47 Ardmore St.

Feedback closes November 7.
