The Maniototo Hospital rebuild is taking shape and will be open to the public for a sneak preview later this month.
Hospital general manager Geoff Foster welcomes the public to attend the hour-long viewing from noon on August 24.
The new facility will have 26 rooms with hospital-level beds.
Mr Foster said the $7 million project was tracking well.
“We are very pleased with the progress – the builders are running slightly ahead of time and of budget.”
The framework was complete and the roof was in place, prompting a call for celebration in the form of a roof shout last week, he said.
Spouting was being installed and windows were expected to be put in place this week.
Bricklaying would follow, 2IC Ryan Glass said.
Mr Foster said the project, which started in April, was on target to be completed by the end of the year and in use by January or February.
“Once we’ve moved in, they will start on the restructure of the rest-home.”
