A newly established stock effluent facility is all but ready for business.

Work on the site, on the corner of State Highway 85 and Brassknocker Rd, was completed in February and would be ready for use once commissioning had been completed, Otago Regional Council general manager of operations Dr Gavin Palmer said.

“It is not yet operational, because we are working through commissioning an effluent disposal company to remove waste when the tank is full. We are expecting to have a contract in place for the facility to become fully operational in early April.”

The site has been blocked off by gates over recent weeks while that last phase is carried out.
