Parenting a teen? It is time to get Sexwise.
The Theatre in Education Trust (Theta), in conjunction with the Cromwell Youth Trust (CYT) are bringing sexual health programme Sexwise to Cromwell next week, with a special performance for parents and guardians.
The programme uses applied theatre and an interactive approach to educate young people on sexuality and healthy relationships.
CYT manager and lead youth worker Rhys Smith said Theta creates a safe and engaging environment to help spark crucial conversations.
“Safe relationships, both physical and non-physical, is something that has been, and will continue to be, challenging for young people to understand and that is why we are excited to bring Sexwise to our community to minimise that challenge and open up dialogue,” he said.
Cromwell College year 9, 10 and 11 pupils will attend workshops with Theta but it is important parents and guardians have an opportunity to hear the information and to feel comfortable and confident in having important conversations with their children,
- Sexwise for parents and guardians is on March 9 at Cromwell College Auditorium.
Tickets are free and available online at eventfinda.
