Central Otago members of “The Good Life Group” (from left) Ceridwen Naylor, Brechin Meehan and Jack Wellstead show off the baking they sold recently to fundraise for Blind Foundation guide dogs.

The three are the inaugural members of the group, which was set up this year by St Bathans woman Renee Harrex to provide a transition programme for young people who were previously part of the Dunstan High School supported learning programme.

Members of the group spend three days a week doing activities such as learning life skills and projects such as fundraisers, baking in a commercial kitchen.

Mrs Harrex said she hoped the programme, which operated with a mix of grants and personal funding, would continue and strengthen, and new members were welcome. REPORT AND PHOTO: PAM JONES
