Alexandra’s children lit up on Sunday as the Alexandra Combined Churches hosted an alternative to Halloween.

Six of the town’s churches planned child-friendly events on the Light Trail that earned treasure-hunt clues, all leading to a final destination that gave out photographs taken along the way, and a sausage sizzle for the intrepid adventurers.
Organising committee chairwoman Sarah More said the churches usually hosted the Alexandra Light Party in Pioneer Park but had moved to the Light Trail instead to comply with Covid-19 restrictions.

“Halloween is typically about darkness but as Christians, we celebrate the light.”
