Two brothers are getting ready to embark on a 2500km journey from Kaitaia to Invercargill as part of the sixth two-yearly Pork Pie Charity Run. Jarrod Frazer, of Wanaka, (pictured) and brother Duncan Frazer, of Christchurch, will drive a 1981 mini to raise funds for KidsCan. The event is restricted to 60 cars, and spots are hotly contested, but a late cancellation by another team enabled the brothers to take part. The trip, inspired by the Kiwi film Goodbye Pork Pie, is a popular event for Mini enthusiasts across the globe. The 2017 charity run raised more than $200,000 for KidsCan, which provides food, clothing and health items for children living in hard times. This year’s event will begin over Easter weekend, in April. To follow the progress of the brothers and to donate visit www.fb.com/TeamLakeWanaka.
