Senior staff member Jayne Teviotdale is moving on after 14 years at the Cromwell Swim Centre.

A farewell breakfast was held for her last week, attended by a large number of members who have come to love her passion for the pool.

Mrs Teviotdale was modest about her achievements, and was surprised and delighted at the unexpected farewell breakfast.

“It’s been a real family, so I will miss the people,” she said.

Barbara O’Kane (88) has been coming to the pool since it opened, and had nothing but praise for Mrs Teviotdale.

“She gets on with all the people; she remembers birthdays; she makes it a great experience for people to come.”

She said Mrs Teviotdale had been very dedicated in her role, with a tremendous work ethic – including coming in at 5.30am to clean the pool – and was loved by all the people who used it.

“She has made coming to the pool a pleasure” Mrs O’Kane said.

Mrs Teviotdale will not be moving far, as she has purchased a local cafe franchise in Cromwell.
