Hard work has paid off for an Alexandra-based retail assistant who received a national award last week for her efforts in customer service.
Taryn Gray spent nine months studying for her New Zealand Qualification Authority level 3 in retail, which is aimed at experienced retail workers aspiring to become managers.
After completing her course, she was able to nominate for the Green Cross Health Stellar Star of the Year award.
Ms Gray was the only applicant from the South Island, and thought her chances were slim.
“I knew I had made it to the top 10. I thought, what are my chances? I’m not going to win.”
Her co-workers also convinced her that another applicant had taken home the award before revealing the trophy last Tuesday.
“I was not expecting it at all. I’m still pretty over the moon about it.”
The course gave her a greater understanding about the business, she said, and she was looking forward to taking on greater responsibility within her role.
She has worked at Unichem for about three years, and says interacting with people is the most enjoyable part of her job.
“I’m a real people person.
“I like being able to help customers with their everyday needs.”latest jordansCheap Wholesale Nike Shoes, wholesale Nike Jordan Shoes, cheap Nike Air Max Shoes, wholesale China
