Some of Central Otago’s best and brightest were recognised at the 2017 Central Otago Awards in Roxburgh last week.
Five Community Service Awards were presented, and winners announced for the Business Excellence Award, Youth Award, Apprentice Award and Young Professional Award categories.
Central Otago Mayor Tim Cadogan said the awards were a “great occasion” to celebrate the “incredible and important achievements” of those in Central Otago.
“All of our winners are truly outstanding people who give freely of their time and energy to make remarkable and inspiring contributions that create a difference in our communities.”
Youth Award: James Sutherland
Apprentice Award for overall excellence: Luke Bottriell
Apprentice Award highly commended: Dave Ewan
Young Professional Award: Morgan Grundy
Business Excellence Award: The Real Dog Company
Business Excellence highly commended: Gary Anderson Solutions for Sound & Vision
Community Service Awards: Carol Haig, Heather McPherson, Rod Peirce, Judy Elliott Hall and Valerie Smith.
