Flat Anzac monuments each have two new flagpoles bearing Australian and New Zealand flags.
Roxburgh and Millers Flat Returned and Services Association (NZRSA) president Ken Bain said the project to put up the four flagpoles was first suggested about nine months ago, and they were erected last week.
“The two poles went in by the Roxburgh monument in the park last Tuesday and the ones at the Millers Flat monument went in on the previous Sunday,” he said.
“Volunteers helped put them in.”
He said the flags had been flying the week prior to Anzac Day and would fly for about a week after.
The project was carried out jointly between the Teviot Valley Community Board, the RSA and Central Lakes Trust.
