Maniototo history enthusiasts have been getting up close and personal with a piece of New Zealand’s natural history this month.

A set of moa bones, discovered by a trio of children and confirmed by the Otago Museum, have been on display at the Maniototo Community Library during September.

Maniototo Community Library team leader Aimee Pieterse said she felt “really lucky” to be able to share the discovery with the community.

“We are really privileged to be able to have them here at the library, and grateful that they’ve loaned them to us so we can share them with the community,” she said.
