The popular Brass Monkey Rally near Oturehua over the weekend attracted a good-sized mob of motorbike devotees.
The cold at the Idaburn Dam site again challenged even the most ardent riders and bonfires raged on into the night.
It was the 39th edition of the annual rally and about 1000 patrons made the trip to the event. Adam Burns checked it out.

Travelling in style . . . Gordon Pringle (left) of Oamaru, missed the first Brass Money 39 years ago as he didn't know it was on. Since then he has been to 35. This year, from his collection of about 10 motorcycles at home, he chose to ride a modest 50cc scooter.
