ALEXIA.JOHNSTON Gerard’s School is proving the secret recipe for success is a cookbook.

The school’s parent teacher association and board of trustees’ latest fundraising initiative – The Seasonal Cook recipe book and a home tour – has raised more than $25,000.

About a further $25,000 worth of the books have yet to be sold, which meant it had the potential to be one of the school’s most successful fundraisers so far.

Board chairwoman Ellen Middendorf said the fundraiser had been a “long-held ambition” for one of the project’s organisers.

“She was keen on this idea for quite a few years, so it was a matter of getting it to fruition.”

The book includes recipes from the wider school community and was compiled after investigating other similar projects throughout New Zealand, Mrs Middendorf said.

Sales started six months ago.

“We are really happy – it was a huge effort,” she said, of the end result.

Feedback had been “really positive”, but the committee was realistic it could take longer than another six months to sell the remaining books.

“We were looking at it being a one to two-year fundraiser, rather than a short-term project.”

She thanked the many people who had assisted and supported the project, including local businesses.MysneakersAir Jordan 1 Retro High OG “UNC Patent” Obsidian/Blue Chill-White For Sale
