Bigger play area gets thumbs up

A $15,000 playground upgrade has provided children at Kidsfirst Alexandra Kindergarten with an expanded outdoor play area.
The upgrade was paid for by fundraising done by the kindergarten committee and parents, and assisted by Fulton Hogan Central, which provided a heavily discounted rate for the work, kindergarten head teacher Lisa Lowrey said.
The upgrade developed an expanded area for playground equipment bought almost three years ago with a Central Lakes Trust grant, and meant the equipment could be better used, Mrs Lowrey said.
Landscaping was done and a boardwalk around the equipment built, and the overall ground area of the playground area was enlarged.
She thanked everyone who had contributed to the project and said children were enjoying the new space. – The Kidsfirst Alexandra Kindergarten fundraiser ‘‘Battle of the Blokes’’ is being held at the Alexandra Community Centre on Saturday. Funds raised will go to buy new resources for kindergarten children and assist with the running of the kindergarten. Tickets are available at the Kidsfirst Alexandra Kindergarten or Alexandra Four Square, in Tarbert St.latest RunningΑνδρικά Nike
