Wanaka Mental Health Peer Support Group organiser Vicki Wise, of Albert Town, shows some of the colourful resources she is offering to help people with mental health challenges enjoy some creative pursuits.

Ms Wise has been facilitating a series of free creativity sessions from 10am to noon on Fridays at the Wanaka Community Hub.

Ms Wise emphasised that she was not an art teacher, or art therapist. ‘‘I make sure everybody knows I’m not an artist. ‘‘It doesn’t matter what it ends up looking like — I’ve had plenty of things that look terrible.’’

The process of making art could be very therapeutic, helping calm the mind and improve a person’s mood, she said. The low-key sessions involved ‘‘a cup of tea, a natter and some art’’. For details, email peersupport@mentalhealthwanaka.orgSportswear DesignGOLF NIKE SHOES
