Wet weather did not put a dampener on the opening of Kiwi Water Park at its new location at Lowburn during the weekend.

The water park had doubled its size and relocated 300m south after wind caused closures and damage to the park in its first season.

Kiwi Water Park co-owner Emily Rutherford said while the weather forecast had not been the best, the weekend “could not have gone better”.

The water park had opened weeks earlier than last year, in time for the finish of the school year, Miss Rutherford said.

“It was a nice soft opening for our staff lot of new staff so it was a good introduction for them,” she said.
