A new building being constructed in Centennial Ave, Alexandra, will become a seller of Stihl machinery for the Southland Farm Machinery group.

Business support person Hollie Cooper said the building was the latest expansion for the group.

Southland Farm Machinery has branches in Gore and Invercargill, where managing director Murray Wilson is based, and Otago Farm Machinery outlets in Mosgiel and Cromwell.

The stores specialise in John Deere products.

“In 2019, we bought the Queenstown Stihl shop and added that to our group,” Miss Cooper said.

“From there, we put a Stihl shop into Otago Farm Machinery in Cromwell.”

The Alexandra outlet would be a stand-alone Stihl shop and it was planned to have it open by the end of the year.

“We are tracking well toward that,” Miss Cooper said.
