Stalls, music, late night buys at twilight market

Alexandra’s festive twilight market is all go.

The event, which was hosted for the first time last year, will return to the Centrepoint Mall on December 22, between 6pm and 8pm.

It will feature a range of stalls, along with busking and the Coffee Tin, which is a Central Otago Youth Council initiative.

Late night shopping will also be on offer in the town, giving people a chance to get the last of their shopping done or, in some cases, started.

Last year’s event was held in the car park at the back of the mall, but will this year be hosted inside the mall, to safeguard it from any cold, wet or windy weather.

Santa will also make a guest appearance.

Puna Rangatahi youth development practitioner Sharleen Stirling-Lindsay was looking forward to the event’s return, which had gained positive feedback.

‘‘People were excited that there was something happening and there was a buzz around Christmas time.’’

Stall bookings can still be made by emailing punarangatahi.deb@gmail.com over the coming days.
