A series of concerts by the Central Otago Regional Choir (pictured during a concert in Queenstown last year) will feature organist Kemp English and violinist Yuka Eguchi.
Publicity co-ordinator Debbie Kershaw said together they would perform a selection of ‘‘stunning and unforgettable music’’ written for violin and organ.
Choral works will include Hubert Parry’s setting of Psalm 122, and Mozart’s Coronation Mass ‘‘with its rich tapestry of deeply personal emotions and exuberant joy’’.
Written for choir and soloists, the solo vocal parts would be sung, as they would have been originally, by a quartet of singers from within the choir, she said.
The conductor for the concert series will be Alison Frude.
The choir is performing tomorrow at Athenaeum Hall in Arrowtown, on Saturday at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Wanaka and on Sunday at Dunstan High School in Alexandra.
