The curtains will soon open to reveal the latest production by the Cromwell Fine Thyme Theatre Company – ‘Allo ‘Allo

Cast members ventured to Fusee Rouge on Saturday to give the community a sneak preview of the characters who will feature in the production, which will be performed at the Cromwell College Auditorium from tomorrow.

The ‘Allo ‘Allo production, based on the TV series of the same name, is a comedy by Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft.

It is set in Rene’s cafe during the German occupation of France in World War 2.

Kathy Birtles, who plays Edith, the cafe owner’s wife, said the story line was hilarious.

“I don’t know how we are going to keep straight faces when we are doing it, but in winter it’s good for people to get out and have a laugh.”

She said anyone who had seen the TV show would not be disappointed by the stage production, which would be performed tomorrow, Saturday and July 19-21.

Production manager Liz Harris said the characters were well cast.

“We want the community of Cromwell to recognise the characters that they are seeing on stage as the ones they are seeing on TV.”
