Organisers of the inaugural Central Otago Brick Show say they were “blown away” by the response to the event and are already planning a second Central Otago show.

About 2500 people attended the weekend show in Cromwell, all profits going to the Otago Rescue Helicopter Trust.

The event was organised by Lego Users Group Otago and featured Lego creations from 12 exhibitors, as well as a Lego “play area”.

Group president Jacqui Hay said similar shows had been held in Dunedin and Oamaru but the success of the Cromwell show meant more shows would be held there, hopefully every two years.
